Unveiling “Nova BUILD EXPO” – the Exposition of Building Innovations and Modern Solutions for the Environmental Sustainability
Bangkok, 29 March 2023 – EEC Academy has unveiled the “Nova BUILD EXPO 2023” as a technology platform for the building innovations, the design thinking, and the high-performance products related to building and real estate. This expo is strongly focusing on 3 key elements as called ESI; E-Ecosystem (Buildings with environmental protection), S-Sustainability (Buildings with responsibility to our world and communities), and I-Innovation for Well-being (Buildings for better quality of life and more effectiveness), which is ready to stage during this 13–15 September at Hall 103-104, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bangna, Thailand. This exhibition also follows the Sustainability Guidelines of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB.
Dr. Kecha Thirakomen, President of Nova BUILD, highlights in his opening speech that the “Nova BUILD EXPO” has been organized as the technology marketplace for architecture and related construction innovations together with extensive experience sharing in these four aspects: Architecture, Engineering, Facility Management and Building Technology, as well as Real Estate and Urban Planning”. All participants shall have a great chance to update and upgrade their knowhow in one place, and to exchange ideas for project development with energy saving, environment concerns, efficiency enhancement and the highest return on investment.
Thailand’s construction industry trend in 2023 expects to reach 1.48 zillion baht, 603 billion baht of which are from private sectors. During the past six years, 60 percent of office buildings is certified as green buildings (ref. Green building certification system). In the next 4-5 years, 80 percent of the newly constructed office buildings with a combine space of 1.67 million square meters will also receive this Green Building certification. This clearly reflects the upward trend of environmental-friendly buildings. Thus, Bangkok will eventually account for around 31 percent entitled as green buildings.
Mr. Kittikoon Gajaseni, Executive Director of Nova BUILD, mentions that the expo has been supported by many relevant organizations such as the professional associations, educational institutes and state and private entities which can help promoting new innovations to the society. Besides, the platform will help to groom up the mindset of environmental sustainability to new generations. Our onsite activities are organized to create the social involvement for inspiration, innovativeness, and engagement.
Dr. Karndee Leopairote, Chief Executive Officer of the Future Tales Lab by MQDC, reveals that “As we are anticipating future scenarios, we must remember that the greatest innovations in history were born from crisis. Our ancestors persevered through tumultuous times, and it is our duty to do the same for the generations to come. The future is in our hands, and we must use innovations and collaboration to shape a world that our grandchildren will be proud of.”
Mr. Chanon Ekarattanakul, Project Executive Director, elaborates that “Nova BUILD EXPO” is organized by EEC Academy, the subsidiary of EEC Engineering Network — the leader in M&E engineering design in Thailand and overseas with business alliances in state and private sectors, especially real estate developers, project owners as well as government agencies and private corporations. This expo is positioned as the “Business platform for building innovations and creativity thinking to strengthen a safety and living standard for a better environment and sustainability.
Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, as the organization which supports sustainable events with useful knowledge, manuals and tools, shares that “TCEB has laid strategic plans for Thailand’s sustainable event concepts and practices as the national positioning that serves global agenda in order to attract more exhibitions into the country. One of our mechanisms to achieve this mission is to support sustainable events organized by private sector in Thailand, and that the “Nova BUILD EXPO 2023” clearly voices out the sustainability trend in Thailand’s exhibition industry, and can promote credibility for Thai society on the world’s stage as the key driver for sustainable developments of social and environmental responsibility, concretely.”
The “Nova BUILD EXPO 2023” is a real sector of marketplace for all-faceted innovations and technologies for the building of residential and environment friendly, especially those aiming for national and international certifications e.g. LEED, WELL, TREES Standards, etc. which focus on water conservation, energy saving, construction materials for green buildings, well-being quality of light, air, water, sound and thermal comfort, etc. The knowhow in organizing the “Nova BUILD EXPO 2023” this time has been supported with the sustainable practices for social and environmental responsibility in the Sustainability Guidelines of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB.
The “Nova BUILD EXPO” is also a huge networking platform with many experts from related fields who are ready to share their valuable insights and experiences to all participants. Besides, this expo is an ideal showcase for innovation and product owners to introduce new launches to public for an exchange of ideas on building design, construction materials, building technologies, facility management and services, all in one place.
The highlighted activities onsite include “Round Table Forums” from professional associations, “Innovation Conferences” in various fields, “ESI Talk” with inspirational thinking, “Pitching Innovation” as project contest by university students, “Innovation Pavilions” for creative showcases and idea exchange, “Nova Awards” for outstanding innovation recognition, “Association Sharing and Activities” featuring collaboration among building and construction alliances, “Building Summit” on multi-organizational memorandum of understanding, “Public Survey” on collective viewpoints of expo attendees, etc.
At the end of this press conference, a special panel discussion was featured on “Why the City Needs ESI Thinking Power?” to emphasize the city’s needs for environment and sustainability mindsets and needs for innovations to promote better quality of life, by Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Bangkok Governor, Associate Professor Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Advisor of RISC, Dr. Kecha Thirakomen, President of Nova BUILD, moderated by Mr. Suthichai Yoon. “Environmentally friendly innovations are inevitable for our better quality of life in the future. As we face unpredictable challenges all the time, we surely need the new innovations and solutions to cope with,” said Associate Professor Dr. Singh Intrachooto
Meanwhile, the “Nova BUILD EXPO” by EEC Academy together with the Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. the King’s Patronage, has made a mutual of agreement to tighten the collaboration on academic knowledge and engineering aspects between the “Nova BUILD EXPO” and the “National Engineering 2023” in order to enhance promotion of engineering innovations which can lead to sustainable developments, according to the national and international targets.
The “Nova BUILD EXPO 2023” is Thailand’s only event which emphasizes on an “in-depth” content. It also serves as a key business platform for knowledge exchanging, and trades on innovations for environment and well-being.
